Melissa strikes us as a person who is fun to be around, energetic, busy and never at a loss when looking for things to do. She currently teaches drama and many of her family members also work in the education field. Melissa grew up in a large family (she is one of six siblings) and this seems to have moulded her into a very easy-going, adaptable and tolerant person. Her mother used to be a nursery school teacher, and consequently she has been spending time around young children all her life. She has worked with children from a few months old to those in their teens, and she has had no problems adapting to working with any of these ages. During free time, she will find creative ways to stimulate and entertain them. She believes that is important for children to have stability in their lives, and therefore she wants to make sure that she builds a strong relationship with them. In her application, Melissa stated “I have worked with children of all ages and I am quite knowledgeable in their likes and dislikes, what works according to their ages, and how to approach them in a fun but formal way.” We feel like she will do her best to become a strong mentor to the children, and also their confidant and ally. Melissa has a creative, positive personality and we believe that she will quickly become invaluable to the children and family who she works with – therefore, we are happy to recommend her as a candidate for any au pair position.
